Terms of Service

Important: Facet is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

All analysis, scores, observations, and recommendations generated by Facet are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute a medical diagnosis, clinical assessment, or professional medical opinion. Always consult a qualified physician, dermatologist, or licensed healthcare provider before making any decisions about medical treatments, cosmetic procedures, or health-related changes.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Facet Technologies Inc.("Facet," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Facet platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Facet.

2. Not Medical Advice — Important Disclaimer

THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.

Facet is an AI-powered aesthetics information tool. All content generated by the Service — including but not limited to facial scores, tier classifications, skin assessments, structural observations, and protocol recommendations — is provided for informational purposes only.

The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you have read or seen on Facet. Facet is not a licensed healthcare provider and its outputs do not create a doctor-patient relationship.

Aesthetic recommendations (skincare, procedures, supplements, etc.) are general in nature and may not be appropriate for your specific health conditions, medical history, or individual circumstances. Always seek the advice of your physician, dermatologist, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or cosmetic procedure.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at legal@facet.ai of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep that information up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload photos of other people without their explicit consent
  • Upload photos of minors
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the AI analysis system
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access the Service without authorization
  • Upload content that is illegal, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to circumvent any paywall, access restriction, or subscription gate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without refund.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

5.1 Subscription Plans

Facet offers free and Pro subscription tiers. Pro subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis. Prices are displayed on our pricing page and may change upon notice.

5.2 Billing

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe (card payments) or PayPal. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Failed payments may result in temporary suspension of Pro access.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Pro access until the period expires.

5.4 Refund Policy

Subscription payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. One-time add-on purchases are also non-refundable once the analysis or content has been delivered. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days at legal@facet.ai.

6. Your Content & License

You retain ownership of the photos you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading a photo, you grant Facet a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, store, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own the photo or have the right to upload it; (b) the photo does not depict a minor; and (c) uploading and processing the photo does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all AI models, software, design, text, analysis frameworks, and branding, is owned by Facet Technologies Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

The analysis reports generated for you are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute analysis reports.

8. AI Accuracy & Limitations

Facet's analysis is generated by artificial intelligence and is inherently probabilistic. Results may be affected by photo quality, lighting, angle, image compression, and the inherent limitations of AI vision models. Scores and assessments are estimates, not objective measurements.

We make no representations that the analysis accurately reflects your actual physical attributes, health status, or attractiveness by any standard. AI outputs should be interpreted as one informational data point among many, not as definitive assessments.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FACET TECHNOLOGIES INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) $50 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO FACET IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Facet Technologies Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to participate in a class action.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by email and by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any other reason with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
